Renee Wilkinson, RLA
I’m a registered landscape architect and published author who designs outdoor spaces that invite people to engage with the land — from compact urban yards to large-scale productive landscapes. With over a decade of residential design experience and ongoing public-sector work, I bring a craft-driven approach to planting, form, and function.
- MLA, University of Oregon, Registered Landscape Architect (RLA #LA1201)
- Author, Modern Homestead: Grow, Raise, Create and founder of HipChickDigs.
- Experience: 15+ years residential design (including work with Northwest Native Landscapes), plus many years at a multidisciplinary firm working on parks and playgrounds.
- Areas of focus: urban yards, estate gardens, edible/productive systems, innovative planting design, resilient landscapes, play-based features for families.
I intentionally limit the number of projects I accept each year so I can provide thoughtful site-based design and detailed construction oversight for every client. If I’m not a fit for your timeline or budget, I’ll help you find alternative solutions.
Last but not least, I am a sixth generation Oregonian with a long-held reverence for Pacific Northwest landscapes. I intimately understand this landscape and what thrives here based on generations of knowledge. I balance my design work with a very full life tending my urban homestead with my beloved family.
